First real Fight by Brian Keller

Brian Keller, the formerly “Switzerland’s most famous prisoner” (beside Walter Stürm), has won his first official boxing match.

In Winterthur, he won on Saturday evening in front of around 800 martial arts fans (expected were 2000) against the Frenchman Claude Wilfried.

I went to that fight anticipating a real spectacle. However, Claude Wilfried quit after just 38 seconds following a barrage of heavy blows (actually the referee stopped the fight)! Brian came out with incredible power right from the opening bell – almost Tyson like. It was over quickly; Wilfried couldn’t recover from those body shots.

Brian’s opinions are highly controversial, both as a person and athlete. Boxing he says is Plan A, and there is no Plan B. Allow him to do 2-3 more fight, and see what happens. Everyone deserves a second (or third) chance.

A short night for me …
